Students & Residents

Maine's Student and Resident Experiences and Rotations in Community Health (SEARCH) Program provides primary care training experiences at rural community health centers and other community based primary care sites around the state. Funded by the National Health Service Corps (NHSC), SEARCH was established to increase the number of primary care clinicians in high need areas across the nation.

Family Practice residents and medical, dental, dental hygienist, nurse practitioner, and physician assistant students with an interest in rural, community-based primary care may apply for rotations. Me SEARCH is open to U.S. residents who are training at any accredited U.S. schools. Special consideration is given to NHSC Scholars, others with an interest in NHSC service, Maine-based students and Maine residents training outside of Maine.
