Maine Primary Care Association (MPCA) provides support and technical assistance to existing community health centers and other interested groups as they decide whether creating a new health center or developing an additional health center site is right for the community.
This support includes, but is not limited to:
- Creating a picture of health care resources, existing needs and barriers to care,
- Identifying and bringing together community leaders, organizations and stakeholders,
- Exploring the community health center model,
- Supporting grant applications for Expanded Medical Capacity (EMC), New Access Points (NAP), or other Section 330 funding, and
- Training and sharing best practices to strengthen health center operations
MPCA also works closely with health centers as they look to expand services to include dental care, vision care, or behavioral health care to meet the growing needs of the patients they serve.
Caroline Zimmerman, Outreach Coordinator, is available to answer questions and to facilitate conversation about what a community health center might do for your community. Please contact her at 207-621-0677, ext. 222 or czimmerman@mepca.org.
